Radio

Our team has accumulated many years of experience in a radio product designs covering transmitters, receivers and local oscillators. An example of our world leading expertise is Cartesian Loop linearisation.

 

Baseband

Our hardware solutions include development of multi-processor platforms, DSP, audio circuits, vocoders and modems. A recent development combines a FirmASICTM baseband processor and a RALCWI 2.4kbps Vocoder.

Software

Our team specialises in real-time signal processing software. We have designed and developed a range of modem solutions for wireline and wireless communications. Extensive expertise in ‘C’ and assembler were both code size and execution speed is important.

Standardisation

Currently involved in ETSI and IEC committees covering technologies such as Marine AIS, TETRA and Digital Mobile Radio. See our Standardisation Glossary.

Technology developed by Applied Technology is being used across the world for wire-line and wireless data modems. We have developed a range of advanced spectrally efficient Trellis coded 8FSK modulation for next generation high-throughput wireless modem utilising conventional ‘narrow-band’ channels.

 

 Wireline Technology

 Line modems supporting such standards as V.32 and V.32bis. We also have extensive experience of DTMF including optimisation of algorithms to ensure minimum false detects.  

Mobitex

Mobitex is just one example of a wireless data modem. Applied Technology has produced designs for EN 300 113 compatible modems.

PMR

We have extensive experience in PMR terminal design and also modem design for PMR signalling systems such as DTMF, CTCSS, XTCSS, Selcall and DCS.

TETRA Trace (APP-TECH)

TETRA

We have been involved in the development of the TETRA Release 2 standards for high-speed data since the beginning of it’s development. Our Cartesian loop designs comfortably meet the transmitter requirements for QAM modulation.
